edgirl12: I just watched Black Swan and my mind. is. blown. Like seriously, i have never watched a movie that has struck at me to the core. It was both frightening at times and most intriguing. Natalie Portman…what a talent, she was superb in this movie as well as the other supporting talents (Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder (!), and just everyone…i can’t remember) There is an old saying that ballerinas are the strongest individuals in the world. Polished wood never reveals the missed landings and bruises. Pure determination hides the shaking, silk and stage makeup hide the blood, and somewhere within all of there, every emotion on the spectrum (joyfulness, sorrow, hope, loneliness, passion, love) is displayed. But never pain. Meanwhile, your mind becomes something much different. It lurks in the shadows, vanquished there by inhuman discipline and the strive to be more perfect than the dancers to your left and right. If so allowed, it will take any opportunity to become demented and twisted, something dark.. The film honestly displays in ways which you mind can really play tricks on you…and thats all i’m going to say. I don’t want to spoil anything. I wanted to cry at the end, but i also wanted to vomit…and i’ve never had such a reaction to a film. I still don’t know really why I felt so nauscious. A truly superb film. -- source link
