archaicwonder:Castro de Viladonga SpainIn Galicia these old Castros are now being discovered on a regular basis and have significant archeological value, not least because they reinforce the claimed connection of Galicia with the other former Celtic nationsCastro culture is the archaeological term for the archaeological culture of the northwestern regions of the Iberian Peninsula (present-day northern Portugal, Galicia, Asturias, and nortwest León in Spain) from the end of the Bronze Age (c. 9th century BC) until it was subsumed in local Roman culture. One of the most notable characteristics of this culture are, its walled oppida and hill forts, known locally as castros (castles). The other distinguishing feature is the absence of visible burial practices, in spite of the frequent deposits of treasures, goods, swords etc. in rocky outcrops, rivers and other aquatic contexts, since the Atlantic Bronze Age. -- source link
