Low-stakes, slow-paced, unrestrained summer fun for people who want to write fic at the speed of whatever works within their life right now. Write the thing for that show that ended a month ago that you’re still thinking about, even if it feels like the internet has moved on! Start crafting that 150k fix-it friends to lovers pwp amusement park employee AU where they’re also space pirates for that six-episode limited-run series that stole your heart back in October of 2021! Write one fic or 38, whatever feels best for you! This is a loose challenge that will run from June to September, 2022. You can write whatever. Signups are never because I don’t have the time to keep track of signups, and also there’s no deadline! I’m talking pictures of clasped hands, a house dimly-lit over the moor with the falling rain in the foreground. Make yourself a moodboard that feels like that one time they did an incredibly bisexual promo for Lost Girl that involved Zoie Palmer just staring at Girl holding an ice cream while it melted down her entire arm. Live your truth. 2. Mind map! Crack open an empty word document and word-vomit the most unhinged story ideas possible. Daydream about the fic that makes your id happy and think about what you’d write if you didn’t have to worry about the social media consumption cycle.3. Watch some old media! Or reread that book you’re going to write fic over, whatever. It’s the weekend, make a snack and treat yourself.
