teeterglance:this becomes sadder once you realize he’s talking about himself i find it really interesting how Gengar says thiswith this facial expression notice how there’s no smile or sneer. he says that with a completely straight face, no mocking tone. almost somber. this guy is dead serious about what he’s saying.this isn’t sad because Gengar’s calling himself a “rotten coward”.it’s sad, because he seems to believe that’s what he deserves. to get rid of. to go die.yes, he’s sending the villagers after the hero and their partner in his place, like the dirty coward he is. i’m not saying this excuses his wrongdoings.but would Gengar have the willpower to keep running for his life, if he were in the protag’s shoes? or would he eventually just let himself “get rid of”, without complaining? -- source link
