Although, perhaps most of that animosity is from the fact that Sawyer knows who Cindy really is, under the sweet smile, under the spineless behavior, under that fucking polo that she treasures like a string of pearls. Sawyer knows Cindy Berman, she remembers her in vivid detail, but the girl before her is not the girl she knew, the girl she loved. Instead, Cindy Berman is infuriating and the exact reason why Sawyer Reid has sworn off love completely.And three, something is very, very wrong. And not in the typical Sunnyvalers are dickheads to the Shadysiders during Color Wars wrong. No, this was more than obvious cheating, bullying, and hanging kids from flag poles. There’s a chill in the air and there’s a shiver that refuses to stop running down Sawyer’s spine, a daunting feeling like there’s something coming. Something in the trees, something waiting to strike, something … dangerous.
