Cold early morning warming up by the kitchen fire at a homesite on Black Mesa. Tea and coffee, hot food then off to cut wood, deliver food supplies or repair roads across the vast reservation land. The volunteers who travel from all over the US and spend their vacations here are amongst the most caring devoted hardworking people I have ever met. I’m constantly in awe of what they are able to do. We provide food support in the form of three hot meals a day to them and tons of fresh and dry food goods to the families that live at Black Mesa so that they can fight against coal and uranium extraction, relocation, illegal confiscation of animals, intimidation by the Bureau of Land Management, federal gov bullying, and mostly to preserve these sacred sites. #indigenousrights #actuallydosomething #kitchencrew (at Black Mesa) -- source link
