Book of Days, holiday cleaning edition21- Made a pumpkin alfredo using some of the pumpkin puree I still had left in the freezer from Halloween. It’s so gooood you guuuys 22- Continued experimenting with techniques for work, this time playing with a style I developed for a project earlier this year that involves a barrage of photoshop filters and bright colors. Felt nice to do something warm and bright to contrast the rainstorm outside. 23- Pretty much ran out of work to do at that point, but hey, it was my last workday of the year, so that worked out pretty well! 24- Look upon this laundry, my son. Everything the jersey cotton sheet set touches is still wet. 25- Christmas was spent cleaning at my parents’ house, I was on Dig Stuff Out Of The Playroom duty and came back with all my old Barbies. Still haven’t figured out where they’ll go, ha ha oh no 26- In between cleaning I had a Dungeons & Dragons Session Zero for my siblings! It being my first time DM’ing, though, there was a lot of looking desperately to my brother who had DM’d and asking advice. I looked up medieval European abacuses for Hemera instead of a calculator, because that’s how I like to have fun. 27- I didn’t mask up enough during the previous day’s chores, and wound up with an allergic reaction to the dust AGAIN… (and I know that’s a suspicious thing to say in these covid days, but it’s really a clockwork cause and effect now, I’m just still getting used to dealing with baby’s first allergy over here) 28- My to-do list that day was to dust, do laundry, start cookies, and cram in as much D&D research as I could. 29- My apartment was finally spotless, and I was able to welcome my brother and his wife to stay for the holiday – with homemade cookies! 30- Our Christmas was delayed due to scheduling conflicts. We had a lovely, chill day. 31- The evening of New Year’s Eve it was finally time for our D&D oneshot! My sibs were champs, knocking over my improperly-scaled adversaries and navigating the dungeon layout i stole wholecloth adapted from the pyramid of khufu.Whew!! That’s the whole year finished! Thank you for coming along on this journey with me, it’s been a lot of fun! I’m enjoying not being beholden to a daily art project for now, though who knows, Horace and Hemera may return again someday! Happy New Year, everyone! -- source link
