In my Masters in biomedicine I’m studying the role of neuronal activity in the regeneration of myelin! The destruction of myelin, called demyelination, happens in patients with multiple sclerosis as well as other disorders and white matter injuries (such as ischemic strokes) . Hopefully we’ll find a cure one day! Or at least improved treatments! -- source link
