jake-from-state-farm-school: the-mighty-birdy: memeseverdie: sparklejamesysparkle: Josephine Baker and her pet cheetah “Chiquita”, 1925. Josephine would bring Chiquita (wearing a diamond collar) onstage with her during her shows at the Folies Bergère in Paris during this period, and the cheetah would sometimes jump into the orchestra pit during Baker’s act, scaring the musicians and giving the audience a thrill. From what I hear cheetahs actually aren’t that aggressive and the biggest reason they’re endangered is that they are so baby they get bullied by the lions and hyenas I want a pet cheetah now The biggest obstacle to domesticating cheetahs (in all that the word implies) is their breeding issues. It’s notoriously difficult to breed them in captivity, and thus difficult to select for traits that we’d want to pass down. Were it not for that, we probably would be able to successfully domesticate them. We already have extensive historical evidence of cheetahs being kept as pets and even trained to perform certain tasks. -- source link
