We’re getting a full length mirror this weekend. Before this weekend @laraisabird would sometimes ask if I would snap a picture so she could see what her outfit looked like. She looked so cute in her flowery jacket yesterday so I decided to make a painting of her ❤️ . Technically, I’ve been trying something different lately. I’ve been doing my drawing on one layer, copying the drawing and hiding it, and then painting directly on the drawing layer. It ends up being a 1 layer file BUT I have my initial drawing ready to check against the painting to make sure the painting has the energy from the drawing. It ends up feeling like the best of both worlds, where you’re forced to embrace your mistakes and happy accidents you get with traditional media, but where you still have all the tools and ease of digital techniques at your disposal. -- source link
