queerasfact: Queer artists 05/30 - Giuseppe CampuzanoGiuseppe Campuzano was a Peruvian artist, researcher, transvestite, and activist. His work brought together media from across Peruvian history and culture to explore the role and experiences of trans people in Peru.Giuseppe’s most famous work is Museo Travesti del Perú (’The Transvestite Museum of Peru’). Museo brings together objects, images, documents, press-clippings, artworks and photographs to presents a queer counter-narrative to the traditional history found in museums and position trans figures as the main subjects in the construction of history. Museo travelled around the world, from Lima to Montreal to Brighton.
