Using an Eye-Fi with a MiFi: Bliss Pairing an Eye-Fi wireless SD card & the MiFi portable 3G
Using an Eye-Fi with a MiFi: Bliss Pairing an Eye-Fi wireless SD card & the MiFi portable 3G network is such an amazing yet simple idea. How has this not become more popular? Basically what this will let you do is take pictures anywhere there is a 3G network connection, and to have those photos be uploaded to your favorite online photo site (Flickr, Picasa, etc.) So as you’re strolling through NYC on your vacation you can have your pics be popping up online for all of your friends and family to see. No popping into a Starbucks required. Now some might see this as a novalty feature, and to those of you-I can see your point. However, I have had the sad forturne of having my camera be stolen after a very important event. And those photos will never be recovered. If I had had this combo though, my photos would have been safely stored online already-and all that I would have lost would have been a camera. Right now you can pick up a MiFi from either Verizon or Sprint for about $99/2 yr contract and a 4gb Eye-Fi SD card will run around $60. Not a terrible deal if you want to be able to upload your photos anywhere. However if Apple would just allow the iPhone to accept your photos from the eye-fi you wouldn’t even need the MiFi, but that sure sounds like a pipe dream. [Gadling] -- source link
