Day 3!! For my Egyptian mythology themed Inktober - this is the 3rd pair from the Ogdoad - Kekui and Kekuit! These two represented not only the primordial darkness that came before creation and that will come after, but also the darkness of night. Kekui, the snake-headed feminine half of the pair, was the darkness before the dawn - she was even called the raiser up of light. Kekuit represented the darkness just after dusk, and was called the raiser up of night. (He was also associated sometimes with Sobek.)For these two I chose a Saharan Cliff Racer as the snake and a Saharan Frog as the frog. I wanted to keep each pair a distinct snake and frog combination that was native to Egypt. This one kept me up late into the wee hours this morning - but I am really happy with where it is going. Like the others, I didn’t have time to finish the border- but I am going to wait till November to finish and polish each of these. -- source link
