the-nth-dimension:cefalopodi:Huh… I just realized he really thought for a moment he was a girl this time, so it is Not impossible for a Time Lord change genders. If it wasn’t possible he wouldn’t even have considered the possibility of being a girl.In Neil Gaiman’s The Doctor’s Wife, the Doctor mentions another Timelord, the Corsaire, who has regenerated as both male and female. So yeah, it has always been a possibility. Timelords don’t seem to be gender specific, though there is no indication of how much switching between genders actually happens. It may be the sex they are born to remains the prevalent one they maintain, with only occasional changes happening,Does anyone have more info on this. What does the extended universe have to say on the frequency of change? Does Classic Who ever touch on this… I can’t think of an instance when it does, but it’s possible I missed it or just don’t remember.I dunno about the spin-off media but the classic show never mentioned anything of the kind - the only references to changing gender being a possibility have come under Moffat. -- source link
