They are, on average, taller than humans, and they are exquisitely beautiful. They are very powerful in Earth-aligned magics, and develop an affinity towards one elemental alignment from birth. Their manner of thinking tends to be similar to that of humans, more straightforward than other Fae, and they seek relationships with humans in which they are on equal terms. They hope their arrangement with humans to be a sociopolitical one, and they are not opposed to things like romance, marriage, and bringing their human companion into the folds of their society. T’s skin is pale, nearly translucent, and she has light freckling across her nose and shoulders. Her large eyes are a bright electric blue, and her facial features are picturescue, with pouty, bright red lips and a tiny pixie nose. She has platinum blonde, wavy hair. Her wings resemble that of a dragonfly’s, and they are translucent and crystalline with light blue veins crackling through them. Typically she wears fabric wrapped losely around herself in various fashions, like a toga or a sari, if she wears anything at all. She prefers clothing that is blue or green in color, as it matches her personal aesthetic, and almost always goes barefoot. She has quite the docile lifestyle, and when I picture her in her mind’s eye I often see her sitting barefoot at the bank of a river, twirling her hair or weaving reeds. She is young and lighthearted in personality, and carries herself as such - walking with a bounce in her step, always a coy smile on her lips, jutting her hips out this way and that, sassily. T is young for a High Fae; the equivalent of her age in human years is about her early twenties, and at that age Fae don’t have quite a lot of responsibility. Over two hundred years is certainly enough time to develop skills and knowledge, so she certainly has a lot to share, but overall her personality can be somewhat carefree and aloof. She is a proper lady, however, and speaks with an appropriate level of decorum - you won’t find an ounce of incorrect grammar or a rude statement within her. Additionally, she’s somewhat vain and enjoys talking at great length about herself. You’ll probably find that she’s the perfect person to spend time with if you just need to get your mind off everything else - she will absolutely talk your ear off and immerse you in her world. She will chat about even the most mundane details, especially if you ask about it. She’s not entirely tone-deaf - she will be able to tell if you’re not liking it, and will scale herself back accordingly - but will enjoy herself greatly if she can express herself in this manner. Overall, T is a lovely young Fae who is very eager to explore the possibilities of human companionship. Why humans specifically? “We live on the edge of their world,” she says, “and we never see each other or touch. There is something inherently romantic about that. I want to break down that barrier and find what is on the other side.” If you’d like to bring this River High Fae companion home, please send me an email at thedragonslibrary@gmail with any questions or visit her in the shop (link to the shop in my blog description)!
