She established many rules he was made to follow; discounting his objections of being too big to be treated like he was still a kid. And by *accordingly* he knew only too well that it was *aunt speak* [and follow through] for having his pants pulled down, put across her knee and have his bare bottom [not so] juvenile like attended to, until he was dissolved in tears, hoarse from screaming - and begging her to PLEASE stop spanking him! He was forced to attend her church, in which she was quite active in, also despite his expressed objections. A particularly bad episode of recalcitrant behavior in church [after many warnings] caused him to reconsider ever repeating it. It not only earned him a well deserved, extended *lecture* held firmly across her knee but he was placed in the corner of the living room, minus his pants, displaying a good deal of a well disciplined rear to the church’s lady auxiliary that met at his aunt’s that Sunday. To say he was the topic of much of the Ladys’ comments would not begin to describe his ignominy, as his pleas to be allowed to go to his room, were met with threats of being put right back across her knee in front of them! -- source link
