Chubby Comic actors in the silent era; Teens and twenties Frank ‘Fatty’ Alexander started his career with Mack Sennett’s Keystone Production Company, working with Charles Murray, Syd Chaplin and Chester Conklin. In 1918 he moved to Vitagraph and was the regular foil for Larry Semon until 1922. Semon picked up Oliver Hardy in 1921. He went over budget often and his . So Alexander was let go in 1922 & 1923 when he worked with/for Joe Rock, who was Stan Laurel’s savior. Alexander came back in 1924 and and stayed until 1925 when he returned to Joe Rock and became one of three chub comics as A Ton of Fun or Three Fatties.
