fandompariah: thehollowkidvg: swiggity-swegan: constructiveanarchy: WORKING CLASS SOLIDARITY My dad told me recently that the most important public health workers are garbage collectors and janitors. So much of our health relies on a clean environment. These people do some of the most important work in society. If we learned in dirty public environments full of garbage, we’d all be sick. I cannot thank these people enough for the valuable work that they do. Shout out to all garbage collectors, janitors and housekeepers! As someone who’s worked in a scrapyard/recycling plant and seen the shit that the garbage man has to deal with. Thank you and keep up the good work; you’re not getting paid anywhere near enough We had the most awesome janitor in high school. The door to his office/storage space was always open. Kids would stop by just to talk and hang out. I suspect that he was a stable and supportive adult presence in the life of a lot of kids that needed that. He came and ate at a restaurant I was waitressing at after I graduated, and if he didn’t remember me, he sure made me feel like he did. He had retired by that point and was disgusted with all the new fencing that had gone up around the high school. “They made it look like a prison!” -- source link
