thefatisland: Chapters 32, 33 and 35 of Shiori Experience.We get to see much more of Prince in those chapters, as he slowly grow out of his “joke character” status. We learn that before joining the band he was a very self-centered and extremely laid-back inividual, obsessed with getting the attention of people (hence his flamboyant personality) and not knowing what to do with his life. When he joined the band, they accepted them without thinking twice or judging him, and this made him dedicated to stay with his bandmates. There is also a recurring joke about one of the original band members not recognizing him due to how much weight he put on since his first appearance, and despite being shown to be quite a big eater “Prince” seems actually to be mostly vegetarian: he wants to call the band “veggie boys” at one point, he is only seen snacking on potato chips (and he snacks all the time), and his grandmother regularly sends his family unsold or leftover vegetables from her harvest. Another big point is made of how he feels left out of the band, because while he was away the group lived some truly profound moment and had time to discover themselves as people and develop deep bonds, all sorts of events he missed. Hopefully he quickly gets over it when the band members still consider him a valuable member of their group, saying that it is okay if he feels different or out of place (and also that he shouldn’t worry to be different just because he is a “little fat”).
