I recently came across a photo set with some Nintendo Comics System covers, and I thought I’d share some random panels from the one I loved as a kid.This came with a cassette tape that you could play and read along with, complete with sound effects.There are 3 stories in here, and they are all super strange. First is where Princess Toadstool (she wasn’t Peach in 1991) is hypnotized and turned into a “punk teenager”.Second one is about Toad and Mario trying to turn the Mushroom Ling back to normal after he’s transformed into a lizard.Last one is about Mario thinking that he’s a plumber super hero “Dirk Drainhead” and defeats King Koopa in his sleep.The whole thing was super cheesy but it was one of my favorite things ever. I loved the facial expressions on King Koopa the most. He either looked so cool or so stupid. -- source link
