spaceycrazylady:anenglishgentleman:spaceycrazylady:fangirltothefullest:Part 4 of these: 1, 2, 3Brainwashed Hiccup anyone…?Oh my god reblogging because this concept has me realizing Hiccup really would be the best choice to brainwash of the four… he’s the planner. The others are much less coordinated, whereas he goes into a fight with a series of clever ideas. The others are resourceful, but not quite as… quick-witted? I mean he’s so observant and bright, it’s how he killed the red death. You think he couldn’t think of a way to down each of the other three? Figure out every weakness and exploit it? That’s not the others’ styles. It’s only his because he fights so rarely (in the movie at least). When he does accept a battle, he means fucking business. The one time he ever really had the intent and capability to kill something, he blew the fucker up. He only ever fails because he lacks violent intent. But if he finds it? He can end your ass.So. Yes. He would be the one to brainwash to your side o.oYes all of these are good points. Now I wanna talk about their teamwork and fight styles at 5am okay okay. Jack is good for raw power, he’s creative and strong and knows how to make a game of it. He can keep his comrades spirits up and keep hope alive, but he’s impulsive. He rushes in and lets his emotions rule him and gets swept up into the momentum. Jack is a tank but he’s untrained, he doesn’t know the full extent of his powers or the best way to use them. It’s going to take a lot of practice and Hiccup needs to teach him to strategise and use hisskills effectively. He does get better at it, but Pitch still easily overpowers him when he was more strength at the end of the movie. Jack has to scramble with everything he has and you can see the worry in him until the power of children’s beliefs save the day and put the Guardians back on equal footing.Merida is fast and sharp and has aim like no other. She’s brave and versatile and takes no prisoners, the badass normal of the group. In contrast to Jack Merida is skilled but weak, compared to the other three with their fancy magical powers and pets at least. We see her take out all the clansmen in the movie to protect her mother, constantly keeping them on her toes but she can’t take out Mor’du herself. She sees weaknesses as they come and takes advantage when she can but she’s not analysing everything around her and gets caught off guard in the end. Back in the ancient kingdom she sure doesn’t notice the giant frickin bear with glowing eyes right behind her. She loses her weapons and her ability to defend. Merida is competent but she doesn’t have that supernatural edge. She’ll use whatever’s at her disposal but when Mor’du knocks her down, she is down. Rapunzel might seem like the least competent fighter of the group, but watch the movie and you’ll see she’s just as good as using her environment to her advantage as Hiccup. Frying pan isn’t doing the trick? Use a tree. Cornered on all sides at a cliff? Figure out where you can swing to safety. She’s got a deadly swing with that frying pan and sure as hell knows how to use her hair, but her real power lies in her words. Her charm. She befriends the thugs and she befriends Max and befriends Eugene so they’re all on her side, she couldn’t do that with Pitch. Her downfall is her fear and he’s a master at exploiting that, she’s too easily disheartened when things go wrong, Rapunzel panics and stops thinking and gets overwhelmed until someone or something else calms her down. But Hiccup? Hiccup is definitely the team leader. He is a goddamn ninja, do you see the way he creeps about in Riders of Berk? He knows his comrades abilities and where they’d be most effective, he knows his enemies strengths and weaknesses and how to use it against them, Hiccup baits the Red Death into it’s defeat. What he lacks in physical strength he makes up for in smarts, Hiccup knows how to use everything in his environment to his advantage and how to direct the flow of battle, and he never. Backs. Down. When pushed into a corner, he doesn’t lose heart, he waits for an opportunity. Any time someone bigger and stronger tries to intimidate him, he keeps his cool, he sasses at them, he doesn’t let them get in his head. We see him fear Toothless when he has the boy pinned down, but he still goes and hunts him out and wants to make friends. Hiccup knows what he’s doing. He’s got his own weaknesses too, he’s physically weak and walks headfirst into danger, he’s good at analysing people but bad at communicating with the vikings and his father and getting them to listen without doing something stupid like, say, getting struck by lightning. He’s isolated and feels like he has to do everything by himself with Toothless, even with allies he knows can help he rarely wants to use them. Hiccup can fumble it too, and he has a lot of issues that can be taken advantage of if you know the way to do it (look at Mildew). But you are damn right he’s the one I’d be most terrified of getting on the bad side of.That analysis, shit son ^^^The three of them versus hiccup might be enough if they worked together, but if they were used to hiccup directing them, organizing themselves might be tough. They ‘d have to play dirty to get anywhere, and that I don’t know if any of them could do - at least not right away. Jack could freeze toothless’ tail, punz could possibly get toothless not to attack them, and merida well she has good aim o.o But they’d be unwilling to go too far, and Hic would take advantage of that…I just LOVE seeing you guys discussing this! Hiccup, for all of these reasons, was the perfect choice. I had the idea that Pitch would be in his shadows debating who he would take out first- who would cripple the team the quickest. Hiccup came to mind easily. While Jack has shown the capability to lead, he is unused to it, and not ready to do so. Merida is too headstrong- she wants to do her own thing without really thinking of the consequences. Rapunzel is extremely clever, but naive and hesitant unless she is forced to act. Thus, Pitch chooses Hiccup. He is the easiest to catch without magic and the easiest to manipulate through fear in my opinion. Once Hiccup and Toothless are separated, it’s easy to scare him. The one thing that gives him “strength” is gone, PLUS he is being held captive, thus leading Hiccup in being forced to comply with his actions. Of course, Pitch isn’t done yet. He has to make him scared- REALLY scared. Scared enough to doubt his own reality, so when he’s left in solitary, he believes Toothless is dead. After a long time alone in the dark and silence of course, Hiccup is brought out to see Toothless, who’s been caged for quite a while, but while he is angry at Pitch, Hiccup is the one he trusts, so he listens to him. And with Hiccup’s mind so uneasy and scattered at this point, all it takes is for Pitch to say a few words of betrayal and he slips easily into the role. -- source link
