Swedish AG-42 Ljungman The rifle that the Egyptian Hakim is based on. They differ in some regards but operate in a similar fashion. The AG-42 isn’t as common or popular as the Hakim because of it’s 6.5x55m caliber. Bit of a warning if you buy an Ljungman or Hakim. These rifles are very well known in the surplus community to “bite” their owners. What is commonly referred to as “AG-42/Hakim Thumb”, it occurs when top-loading the rifles. The massive bolt, even when held open tends to launch forward the moment you begin inserting ammo, smashing the owner’s thumb into a bruised and bloody mess. -- source link
