records-of-fortune:Etruscan. Gold Ring. 5th Century BC. This Gold finger-ring has two crouching lions on either side, the forepaws of which are outstretched and support a scarab in a gold band-setting. The engraved design depicts a lion with its head turned back.The curator comments accompanying the item state that, ‘Goldwork examined by BFC and JS July 1986 and thought likely to be 19th-century.’ The scarab however, is labelled as Etruscan in origin.(The British Museum) -- source link
