sailoreuterpe:thebibliosphere:yuleagin-nova:sidewalkwitch:hotbully:swamp:diasporagirl:i’d take the cash and spit in their drinksI fucking hate customers like thisAlso unless you’re just getting like a few drinks, five is a shitty tip.Honestly if I knew beforehand that the max tip u were gonna give me would be five bucks you’d get the most minimal degree of service I could provide.Don’t do this. This is the most disrespectful thing on earth.“We have always talked about doing this. Boy honey wouldn’t it be fun to taunt the person likely making below minimum wage who is already expending far more emotional labor on winning our approval than we’ll ever show our own children. What if we just left money out on the table, just to watch them sing and dance for our sense of gratification and take a dollar away for every time they don’t sit back and clap like a performing seal. Boy I sure do love being a shitstain on the underpants of humanity.”As someone above said, unless you’re getting, like, drinks before a show or something, $5 is a terrible tip in and of itself for two people. An average meal at a reasonable restaurant in my town runs $10-15. $5 would be fine for ONE person’s meal. Hell, it would be rather generous at 33% for one $15 tab.But for two people, unless your meals combined come to around $25-35 or under, $5 is going to be less than 20% and most likely even less than 15%. $5 is 20% for a $25 tab, but only 14% for a $35 tab. 15% isn’t even fair any more, but even if you INSIST on 15%, YOU’RE NOT EVEN HITTING THAT HERE.And that’s for the ENTIRE tab. If you’re getting a couple of drinks per person, maybe sharing an app, getting a little dessert after–even being conservative you’re running $50+ on the tab. Which means the full $5 is only 10%, and that’s assuming a cheaper place and picking the cheapest items.I mean, fuck, at my restaurant the cheapest adult meal is $10. So yeah, you and your honey could pull it off, but that’s without drinks of any kind but water–soda and tea are $3 a pop–and nothing but the entree/side combo. No alcohol, no apps, no dessert. It can be done, but it’s not fun or likely–especially with this type of asshole. Even fast food joints charge for soda.TL:DR unless you’re equally cheap in your meal choices as you are in tipping, this is shitty on multiple levels.Don’t be a douche, kids. -- source link
