My book interpretation of Sophie Hatter for the Ladies of Literature zine I’m organizing!I have so many feelings about the book Howl’s Moving Castle and specifically Sophie’s character arc. When she breaks the spell, it’s not just some generic good triumphs over evil or happily-ever-after plot construct. It means so much more than that. She doesn’t free herself from an evil witch; she frees herself from her own self-destructive inclinations. Now that’s a story. -- source link
