mental-leaps:Sherlock - filming The Final Problem“When I read it I was very happy because there is a point in the scene where she turns the tables on him and says: “I’m not gonna say that unless you do!” - Louise BrealeyTbh I feel saddest for Sherlock….I mean, he didn’t intend to coerce Molly to give him her confession, he didn’t want to deliberately humiliate her.He himself was forced, coerced, and threatened by eurus. He didn’t do this willingly. So – although I know where loo is coming from with regards to turning the tables around and the fact that this time Molly is given some power as opposed to being the occasional plot device that gets pushed around – I still think it’s rather unfair to want to turn the tables around against Sherlock since Sherlock didn’t do this to Molly willingly. He didn’t want to hurt her, nor does her want to shoot Mycroft, or anything else he did at sherrinford. All he did was try to protect his friends and family. Molly slapping Sherlock when he used Magnussen as an excuse to get high – yeah ok, it’s fair enough for her to want to slap some senses into him since he was getting a bit out of control there. Molly scolding him at the ambulance in tld – also ok since Sherlock actually IS endangering himself with his out of control drug usage. But this scene? No. At least to me, it feels so wrong to use this moment to “get back” at Sherlock with that power dynamic game of turning the tables. Because here, Sherlock IS helpless and vulnerable. Above everyone else, Sherlock was the main target and Sherlock was the worst to be tormented throughout. I wish Molly had been more observant and realized that something was off about Sherlock during that phone call. Idk I just feel really bad for Sherlock, he’s trying so hard and yet he always ends up getting hurt the most and his friends almost always doesn’t see the good in him. The only one to really notice Sherlock was Mycroft -- source link
