a nation reborn – a poem i wrote in light of the presidential elections. i’ve found myself lost for words at the lack of humanity exhibited by voters of trump. although i live in england, as a woman, as a muslim, as a member of the LGBT community, and as a pakistani & a person of colour, i can already feel the blows of trump’s rule to the minority groups i belong to; but above all, as a human being, i can already feel the pain and suffering that are inevitably going to follow today. please, if you are privileged, protect those who aren’t; protect your trans neighbours, your muslim sisters, your black friends, and unite as one, because love trumps hate. -- source link
