Who could’ve thought the Belmont Mansion would have so many similarities with a Roman Temple (besides Zach)? Some obvious features include the Corinthian columns on the very front of the mansion, one of the three popular ancient orders, above which is a sort of entablature. Also, on top of the corners of the building some small statues stand similar to those on the corners of Roman temples. Some other features include the fact the mansion is raised above the ground and has a clear front entrance like Roman temples. In front of the mansion is a fountain, just like how a fountain sits in front of the Pantheon in Rome. While Adelicia Franklin was not a Roman God, both the mansion and Roman temples act as their homes. Similarly, both the Belmont Mansion and Roman temples like the Pantheon stand as symbols of wealth and power. The Belmont mansion sits at the head of the lawn, turning it and the surrounding buildings into a sort of forum similar to the Forum of Julius Caesar. -- source link
