skygawker:rosbridge:It’s not that Anakin reaches for Obi-Wan that kills me, it’s that he actually takes a few steps towards him before just giving up and crumpling like the saddest and most dejected yet also most dickish kicked puppy of all time.#Anakin’s mastery of the “Go away. No wait that was the opposite of what I wanted” is truly a thing of wonder and majesty#i suppose in his defence the things he actually wants from Obi-Wan aren’t on the table#this whole scene is so interesting because it does a really good job of showing both what Obi-Wan knows about Anakin and Padme#(they have feelings for each other)#what he probably knows#(they’ve acted on those feelings)#and what he doesn’t know#( they’ve made the kind of commitment to each other that would preclude Padme becoming romantically involved with Clovis)#he’s essentially telling Anakin to remember that he can’t offer Padme any kind#of permanence#or real commitment#and that she’s probably going to pursue a relationship with someone who can offer her those things eventually#and he has to be ok with that#meanwhile they’ve been married for years!#and then we have#Utapau#where he tells Anakin that he would never#disappoint him#in a context where disappointment#is code for leaving the order#which…#oh Obi-Wan#D:#even in happy aus he has so much he’s going to have to come to terms with (via rosbridge) -- source link
