I didn’t - and still don’t - wish being trans to be the the only thing that defines me either as an artist or a person. But as I grow older, more comfortable with my place in the world, and more articulate about my politics and my experience, I better understand the need for visibility. My personal trans experience falls within the concept of gender binary - I am a man, my pronouns are he/him/his. But the way I am is just one of the millions of valid and real ways to be a man, to be trans, to express gender.
