vampireloreskill:Hey everyone! Today I am SUPER excited to share something with you that I’ve been working on the past several days (I maaaay have posted some things about it on my blog during that time), and have finally finished! One thing I’ve always craved more of in Sims 4 is good lighting fixtures! This is actually one of the things that lead me to start frankenmeshing back at the end of last year, when I started switching around the heads of lamps. But there was so many possible combinations, and the chances of me individually making all of the ones I could use were pretty much non-existent. Then I had an idea- What if lamps were like separated beds, and you could make a build set of them to swap around freely?? At first I was worried about the practicality of them because of how different the stands were in height and in how they attached to their shades, but then everything fell into place once I tried adding slots to them, and I am so pleased at the results!! I haven’t separated every lamp, just most of the ones I thought would work for this specific purpose, but I do plan on revisiting some that look promising at some point, as well as possibly make my own components! Thank you so much to everyone who gave me such positive feedback while I was making these! I like to think of all my custom content as follower gifts but this one especially is for all of you, I hope you enjoy experimenting with it as much as I have <3Lamps Of Many Hats - {download}Most of the lamps are base game compatible, however the rest do require the pack they are originally from- The packages are merged and labeled accordingly.28 stands in total, 12 floor lamps and 18 table lamps, found under their respective categories, 23 shades found under Lights > MiscAll LODs, same swatches as the original objects, I decided not to have my usual custom thumbnail because the generated ones already give a clear picture of what they are. Only two custom descriptions I thought were funny, prices have been divided up between the stands and their matching shades, and the header specifies which it is.The table lampshades have been sized up to work on floor lamps, to use them on table lamps just do shift + [ once or twice, same with the floor lampshades (Example shown above). The only table shade that is it’s original size is the Soothelight, because for some reason when the size changes I made to the mesh don’t seem to stick once in game? I’ll update the file if I find a fix. These do not need bb.moveobjects enabled to function! Also because the shades don’t have footprints, you can get pretty neat results by combining them with other objects, such as the plastic flamingo pictured above! (I did use cheats to put the flamingo on top of the table however)The lights are contained in the shades, the stands don’t have any, although if you click on them you’ll still get the usual pie menu.Made with Sims 4 Studio and Blender using Maxis objectsTerms of UseFeel free to @ me if you recolor these, I’d love to see + download them! (Hint: the uv/textures are unchanged, so any recolors you’ve done of the original lamp should work for them!) -- source link
