Probably Percy returning from…something. She could spell pancakes cooking in the kitchen. Noel hoped this meant she was about to be awoken to some serious pampering. “Morning,” Percy said as she opened her eyes. "Happy Valentine’s Day.“"Happy Valentine’s Day,” Noel said, smiling. Oh yes, she was in for some serious pampering.“So,” Percy said, running a finger up and down her hand. "Do you want your present now or later?“"Now,” Noel said, sitting up. Percy reached behind him and picked up a piece of blank paper. No, not blank. With the room’s lighting, Noel was just able to make out that there was some sort of drawing on the side he wasn’t showing her. Percy dangled paper in front of her. Impatient, Noel snatched it from him. Turning it over, she frowned. “Oh…”“It’s a picture I drew,” Percy said. "Of me giving you flowers.“"In lieu of real flowers?” Noel asked, sneaking a glance at him. He looked very serious.“Real flowers die. This will last forever.”“Uh-huh…”“Look, see how I’m blushing and awkward as I give you the flowers. That will last forever too.”“It’s a very nice thought, but I’d rather watch you in person be all blushing and awkward. It may not last forever, but it’s more rewarding.”“Okay, you know I actually don’t blush or act awkward when I give you flowers, right?”“You think so?” Noel asked innocently.“Okay, you know what. Just give it back,” Percy said, reaching for the picture. Noel hugged it close to her chest. ”I don’t think so. I’m going to hang it in my office. Or put in frame and place it on the corner of my desk where the flower vase used to go. Since this will last forever, I don’t need to worry about keeping that space clear, do I?”“Give it back,” Percy said, lunging for the picture. Noel rolled out of the bed and dance away from him.
