spicyhorror: Candid photographs of women on the streets of London taken by Edward Linley Sambourne, 1905-8 Edward Linley Sambourne was the chief cartoonist at Punch magazine, he was a skilled draftsman obsessed with getting details correct. He preferred to work with models, but turned to photography when it became difficult to find people to model for him for hours on end. He started out photographing models in his studio, but eventually in the last years of his life would roam the streets of London with his hidden camera secretly taking pictures of women for drawing reference.
