Red Love & Snippety Hot Flashes! Of all people, I should know and be most familiar with the Aries energy. If anyone else can top this please join in. For starters, the two main people who merged and gave me a space to incubate and step out into the world are Aries heads. Yes! My Father and my Mother. Plus, I have an older sister that is also an Aries - all March born. From the Aries incubating inside of me, I have experienced quite a bit of the tantrums and dramatic moments of this pioneering sign. I’ve seen and felt the spontaneous combustion of this head butting Ram; I’ve tasted the red pepper kisses, I have diaries of hot love. I know what it comes with. I know how Aries burns. I also happen to have this innocently sexy Mars ruled Cardinal sign occupying the angle of my 7th house which is where we can find the geography of our intimate, one-on-one relationships, partnerships and marriage; the landscape it holds and the mapping of its mission. The details are in the support or challenges offered by the occupying planets and their aspects. My Taurus Moon and Jupiter has residence in that house but they can be like fish out of water or sensual over heat. My Earthy feminine nature born and raised in a double headed Firery Aries house. Just imagine what I had to witness - two Rams butting horns! Lots of sudden alarms and spicy tunes. Picture this…an easy going, emotionally stable, earth sensual girl growing up in a fire pit with two hot headed, bossy, impatient and childlike parents. How could it have lasted? Before I even became a teenager, the fire had died. Aries is short on staying power. I would always keep Aries people at arms length for fear of the drama that could come. Or the sudden impact. The drama I saw in my home and between my parents was the picture I carried. The theatrics that can arouse and provoke my Mars in ways that even I had learned to fear. So I practiced avoiding the Aries energy all together, I was very uncomfortable and most times felt out of my element in my own home. Which is why I left at an early age and immediately after high school graduation. If asked which sign can be easily matched with narcissistic tendencies, I’d have to raise my hand and say Aries! But this is only in the case where the Aries energy goes south or simply goes ballistic. Now keep in mind that everyone has Aries somewhere working or playing in them. My analogy of Aries and narcissism comes from my own experiences. I would love to see how it plays out in others. If you are a survivor of narcissistic relationships, pm me so I can check out your chart and that of your narc parent. Aries is narcissistic by nature. In a healthy dose and in moderation this Mars ruled sign is simply working its design and its destiny. As I age, I am finding some pleasant and practical things to say about Aries and not so reluctant about allowing them in my personal space. If it wasn’t for Aries we would not know what “SELF” is or means. We would not be inclined to look out for number one or take care of one’s self first. The “Ish” phenomenon is mainly misunderstood when it is placed after the word “Self”. “Ish” means to some extent; having the qualities or characteristics of; somewhat. To the greatest extent, we need to Be Ourselves! So let’s not get carried away over the Selfish word an longer. It is a perfect word and a perfect way to be. Selfishness is so underrated and often hated. Yet, Aries can teach us to find new meaning in the"ish" of Self. I am learning to now love and appreciate Aries and the Mars energy it embodies. I struggled with both for sometime. I was rather uncomfortable with their aggressive nature, their brashness and their impatient demeanor -all of which were the characteristics of my Aries ruled childhood home. However, when the tables were turned and I served up those qualities they were rejected by my caretakers and I was sometimes penalized. My Mars lives in hideaway (12th house) so that would add more Mars shyness. It is now that I am beginning to see and experience the wonders and magic of my 12th house hidden Mars. It’s amazing how life is so perfectly beautiful and balanced, even if we disagree and think it isn’t. Before having my son, I would avoid Aries people. I criticized them, and always expected to clash with them. I would never date an Aries man and avoided friendships with Aries women. Then I became intimate with an Aries woman. Passion, play, sex, adventure, bold moves, sensual leaps and bounds were all like gift wrapped toys. Then out of nowhere came the blazing fire to burn them all. Driving her to suddenly take a three hour drive home in the middle of the night while riding on her internal fuel. A jealous bout during our evening of three way fun. But I appreciated her being open about her feelings, not holding them in. Then quickly getting over her mad jealousy in no time. And later being open to another trio retreat. Now….That’s some kind of sexy! That is definitely hot! And that’s how I roll. I say what I need to and I don’t tend to hold grudges. Let’s keep it light! And the flame turned on right! I like things out in the open when it comes to my one-on-ones. The ReBirth of Aries Then my son Djimon was born with both Mercury & Saturn in Aries in the 5th house. It is rather interesting because his Aries energies are subtle and illusive even, until he is behind the wheel, in one of his unusually argumentative modes or makes that unexpected move. He has a stellium of personal planets all in Taurus. (Ha! It’s like another me in disguise) This kid is so mellow and calm sometimes I worry he may be too sedated. My ‘Mother must have felt the same way about me with my Taurus Moon and her Scorpio Moon living in her house. An opposition, a clash. But now I appreciate the Aries energy my son came to think (Mercury) through and to master (Saturn) and to assist me with embracing and carrying on my Aries business. I know this lesson is for the both of us. It has and continues to help me to appreciate and find value while learning to draw upon and integrate the Aries Mars fire within me. Sun, Moon, Venus & Uranus are all marching to the beat of Aries. Fire in Soweto?? After an intense winter, we should all be excited to have some heat right? Well, no worries. This Aries party is already heating things up within the masculine & feminine endeavors. Sun & Uranus are male influences while Moon & Venus are feminine planets. We can find some balance (Libra) within the heart and heat of our relationships. Even if it means sudden connections or sudden disconnections. It’s a very uniquely expressive time for everyone. And as it plays out on a global scale. The radical in you wants its day and it’s time. And thinking out the box is the only way. I am experiencing a surge of energy and more activities in my 7th house of relationships where my Aries lives and loves. Remembering to be in and speak from my heart. You can expect to surprise yourself -first -when this surge of energy begins to move you to do things you once hesitated or feared. Sudden departures are in order as well. The Darkness in The Flame! With the Sun (Aries) and Pluto (Capricorn) squaring there are deeper issues that are coming up from within. Power struggles are showing up for you to deal with accordingly. Those dark shadow matters of a sexual nature needs regeneration. Don’t shoot the messenger(s) or burn up the food, pot and the kitchen stove. This transit is pushing us to be done with the old shit that no longer works. Aries teaches us about Self! And the first lesson is: “Be Yoiur Self”. Be your pure, true, real self. Not the image you have in your head - built and constructed from the extraneous. When you find yourself trying to wield power or if someone is doing a power play on you, pause, breathe and observe rather than engage so quickly. It is your chance to show up as your true self so you want to make sure you left home packed with the true you. Regardless of who that is. You will see a whole lot into your opponent’s story and how it coincides with yours. Now this is going to be hard because Aries does not think first, it leaps or hits first (sometimes picking a fight) before thinking things through. But if you are reading this, you have the upper hand because you have already begun to warm up and work it out in your head so you can ace any match. Preparing for war is the smarter route. It can prepare you for taking a hit or a blow you didn’t expect. Susceptibility to head injuries, unusual headaches, sinus sensitivity, nasal drips and drainings. Relax! At least make the effort to. It’s the necessary purging that’s taking place. Let it!! Get your head out the way. Lol This New Moon in Aries conjunct Uranus with Moon and Venus in the mix says, RADICAL CHANGE is SEXY! YOLA Yoga: Salamba Sirsasana The Headstand pose offers many amazing whole body benefits and relief for those willing to change their perspective. Directs blood to stimulate the brain and provide a counter balance to blood flow while providing organic face lifts and expansion in the head. Like the Hanged Man in the ancient tarot system, flip over and discover a new world view or be hungover. Keywords: Unpredictability; spontaneous change; sudden moves in drive and ambition!
