Qubo: Week 8Well, everybody. It’s the end of an era for OTA children’s television.Qubo, the OTA kids network that launched on September 9, 2006, will be SHUTTING DOWN on Monday March 1. Here is their FINAL WEEK of their broadcast. The main reason why they’re shutting down is because ION Media, the operator of this channel, was recently bought by E.W. Scripps back in 2019 (the same company that owns that National Spelling Bee), and they want to replace this channel (as well as ION Plus), with one of the Katz Network channels (which E.W. Scripps also own; Bounce, CourtTV, CourtTV Mystery, Laff, etc.) and they want to focus ONLY on the adult audience. This leaves PBS Kids’s 24/7 channel being the ONLY FREE-TO-AIR KIDS TV CHANNEL LEFT IN THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!Let’s pour one out for all the adults who grew up watching this channel one last hurrah. What was YOUR favorite show that aired on the Qubo channel? (or Qubo Kids Corner?) -- source link
