p-artsypants:This is my entry for the HTTYD Discover Your Duo Contest! Hiccup and Astrid have always been my OTP. They really exemplify a healthy romantic relationship, and I really appreicate that about them. When coming up with the idea, I realized that there is really no place better for them then in the sky, where they first ‘fell in love’. Which is also why I put in the northern lights. Berk in the background represents their home, even though it’s gone now, the responsibilities to their people follow them. But when they are together, they can put those obligations away, and just be. And of course, the duo are best represented by their dragons, Toothless and Stormfly. I had SO much fun with this piece. It was just an absolute joy to work on.Except, for all the hiccups (no pun intended)Right in the middle, My computer went into a coma, so I had to go into work off hours, and use that photoshop (which was missing all of my brushes) to finish it. (I’m actually on my work computer right now uploading this.)Thankfully, my boyfriend was tweaking it at intervals, so I had a somewhat recent file to use.
