Hate IT! I can definitely understand why you would hate it. I think that’s the point though. We see these boys in the beginning as just innocent kids well maybe not completely innocent but kids trying to make the best of their environment. But that was the point of The Wire. It was just a circle. The players may change but the game remains the game.I will admit it broke my heart to see how Randy and Dukie ended up. Michael becoming the new Omar felt right though.@killakillakadafi191 that’s cause Michael had the most “street” heart. The other two in differing ways wrestled with the want to do the “right” thing. Michael’s kill or kill regardless mentality allowed him to jump headfirst in the game with little to no hesitation. And I want to say he the only one that completely embraced all aspects of the street game. While Randy’s foster mom gave him the want to try and rise above the street life and made him question some of his choices. Duties, despite his junkie mom, moral compass seemed to come from the teacher who mentored him in middle school. The Wire and the Corner will always be the top urban television shows for their true, honest and raw grit. But we had this discussion before @killakillakadafi191 about why and the director/writer. You’re right we had this discussion. It’s sad that Michael took the game so easy but remember he wanted nothing to do with it. All he wanted to do was go to school and look after his little brother. The only reason he got into the game was he didn’t want his brother to get molested by his stepdad just like he was. The final scenes of the kids are heartbreaking cause we know the likely outcome of their story. Yo it’s crazy how at the beginning of there storyline you saw a different outcome. Then at the end of the series it was something different especially for Dookie. It was way way left Yea everything went left but I think that was the point though they wanted us to know that this could happen to anyone. Nobody wakes up in the morning and say I want to be a shooter or I want to be a junkie or I want to sell dope but the circumstances these kids went through led them on this path. -- source link
