So when I first read the LOTR 11 year old me really wanted Sam and Frodo to fight at Mt. Doom instead of Gollum and Fordo. You know like in the anime where the best bro has to snap the protag out of being evil. I really wanted Sam to be torn with his loyalty and the fact that they were right there. Like how can you just let Frodo walk out after all the shit they been through. (Also how the hell does moive Elrond not just push Isildurs in the lava come on lol) Hence fight time where is just Fordo being all kinds of out of his mind abusive (physically verbally) to poor Sam. And Sam knows its no longer Fordo so they fight. I had it that Sam kept Sting and cut Frodo’s finger when he put the ring on. How Sam precisely cut only one finger especially when Frodo was invisible only 11 year old me will know lol. -- source link
