Like, so the point of the little scales under the bagging area is to make sure that people aren’t bagging things they haven’t paid for. But the scales are so sensitive to the minutest variances in weights that they are constantly throwing read flags and summoning human employees to sort them out. This happens so often that the human employees don’t even bother to check anything, and just reset the machine automatically. At which point, the weighing function might as well not actually be there. -- source link
