Every morning they made their own beds, and had a cold bath in a tub made of sold silver.Their nursery was filled with miniature versions of grown up furniture and decorated with flowers and ferns. Nurses, one for each child, made sure their hair was brushed and that their matching outfits were always fresh.The grand duchesses had dozens of fine porcelain dolls, many of them presents from their mother’s English relatives or visiting royalty.
