deviantminxy:So here is an interesting position I came across the other day. With white to move, who is winning? Love the blog White has a *slight* advantage.Though this is suspiciously close to a deadlock. Because while the Rook has no leverage, no way to gain an upper hand, thus the pawn and potential conversion (or using to pin a careless king), ….ultimately……the deeper truth of the matter is that black and trade rook for pawn (not logical normally, but I specialize in thinking outside the box)…..at any time they want, and leave this in effect a stalemate. So I’mma gonna say, strictly speaking, White is winning. But in reality, this situation has a draw/stalemate written all over it. :)Though……..interestingly enough……….. I do see a concept possible where Black king gets all up in the grill of the White king, and works a brilliant (cuz that’s what it’ll take to pull it off) tandem assault that separates the White king from their pawn. Then in that case……White totally get pawned. -- source link
