The Margolin Target Pistol,This is a very interesting Russian .22 target pistol designed by a very interesting gun designer.  The Margolin Pistol was created in 1948 but made it international debut at the 36th Pistol World Championships, held at Caracas Venezuela in 1954.  It was designed to be very accurate, simple, and yet at the same time economical.  Weights could also be added to the barrel as well as a compensator to reduce muzzle climb.  Other models were made featuring a shorter barrel and more compact design, for self defense of less formal shooting.The most interesting thing about this pistol is its designer, Mikhail Margolin.  Margolin was blinded after being wound in 1922 during the Russian Revolution.  All of his designs were created in his head and dictated to another designer, he built constructed, and modified his pistols through feel alone, and he never got to see exactly what his inventions looked like.This is also the pistol Princess Leia used to kill a stormtrooper in the first scene of Star War Episode IV A New Hope. -- source link
