projectunbreakable: The photo above was the first photo ever taken for Project Unbreakable. It seems like yesterday and it also seems like ten years ago. Today marks the two year anniversary of Project Unbreakable. Two years ago, right around this time of day, I woke up with the idea for this project. There weren’t any grand plans for it, truthfully. The only plan was to create something - anything - that would bring awareness to sexual assault. I’m risking sounding sappy, and I’ve said this hundreds of times, almost to the point where I’m annoying myself, but.. I had zero clue that this would be something more than just a tiny art project. But it is - it is so much more. And that’s because of every single survivor who has cultivated every ounce of bravery in them to participate. It’s because of every single person who has bore witness to that very bravery in each photo. It’s because of the people who have dedicated their time, energy, and creativity to this project - I am very grateful for the work Christina, Kaelyn, Kerri, and Lydia have brought to Project Unbreakable. Thank you to everyone for your support of the project - and thank you for allowing me to get a little sentimental this morning. But most of all, thank you to the survivors who have made this project what it is today. Today - and forever- we hear you, we believe you, and we support you. - Grace -- source link
