This year I have had a creativity explosion. I’m attributing a lot of it to the anti-depressants I went on. My GP and specialist nurses recommended them and by god they were right! I have felt SO much better, so much more positive and have had so much more energy. As such I’ve been drawing and creating everyday. I’ve started a bunch of projects that I actually think I will finish, one of which is this daily sketch diary. Everyday I draw a single, ordinary item that represents the day. These really help ground me as well. Before (especially if I had a string of bad days) days would all blur together… I would feel unfulfilled and like the days had been wasted. Drawing something from each day is like a mindfulness activity. It makes me focus a little on each day, picking one thing that sets it apart from all the others. It’s like the arty version of the app 1 Second Everyday, which if you like the sound of this kind of small snippet from each day way of recording your life, but don’t feel confident drawing, definitely check it out. I hope to start posting a little more on here, though I mainly post on my Instagram (@EmilyDubious) but also have a Facebook page under the same name. I also recently opened a Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/emilydubious). -- source link
