mistymacallister: I woke up this morning with a terrible urge to find out if there was such a word as GRUNTLED because I was disgruntled and I was wondering in my disgrunt what it would be like to be GRUNTLED. Did anyone else think of the word GRUNTLED just for the simple reason because they didn’t want to be disgruntled? And guess what? Yes!! GRUNTLED is a word meaning pleased, satisfied, contented. It’s a relatively new word that came around in 1930s and it’s a back-formation from DISGRUNTLED. Because you know what happened sometime in 1930s? Someone woke up just like me, disgruntled, and they said to themselves, you know what? Enough with the disgruntle, I’m going to be GRUNTLED. And what a great decision that was! ••• Let’s all be gruntled today! Because tomorrow you might be turbed. #grunt https://www.instagram.com/p/CObMssiH72S/?igshid=1qs8gqcbi87qd -- source link
