mistymacallister: Ok, I have one thought on ‘Zack Snyder’s #justiceleague I just finished watching it last night - it took me 3 days to watch it, it’s four hours long, basically comparable to a Wagner opera, and I didn’t think anything compares in length to a Wagner opera … and … if you haven’t watched it, this is a movie that explores the tense relationship between shirt and pants. WARNING: IT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! • It all starts with Aquaman - this strained relationship between shirt and pants. Aquaman, who lives the simple life in a fishing village somewhere in a cold part of the world, wears these really nice sweaters like he’s cold, but he doesn’t really like wearing sweaters or shirts of any kind. At the first opportunity he takes his shirts off and throws them on the ground - if there’s a woman around she’ll inevitably pick it up, force of habit, I guess - and he’s left in his pants, which he clearly likes. He never discards them on the ground like some piece of litter. So why does Aquaman hate shirts so much? Will we ever know? • Well, let’s hope so. Much later in the movie, after Aquaman has ripped quite a few shirts off himself but still not the pants, Superman, who was dead, is brought back to life, and … when he comes back, he is wearing PANTS. No shirt. Again, the bias against shirts, which makes it hard for a shirt to live next to pants. True, Superman ends up wearing a shirt with those pants but that’s only after Lois Lane hands him a plaid shirt, like, ok, cover yourself, you must be cold, this Kansas weather, you know, and, to his credit, Superman doesn’t rip it off, but I think that’s more in deference to Lois Lane because we all know that Superman likes to rip his shirts open. • Ok, well, I don’t think we’ll ever know why these guys hate shirts so much and love pants, but I’m happy to say that the creators of the movie have come up with a short term solution to this shirt and pants conflict. The shirt and the pants end up coexisting quite harmoniously when Aquaman and Superman are made to wear unitards. So this movie ends well for the shirts! #moviereviewhttps://www.instagram.com/p/CNk0VEpnt8s/?igshid=1mnaohqk3tk9e -- source link
