mannequinfetish: The Hammock. The Hammock was Invented in 1654 by Mr William Hammock for the purpose for suspending his wife during intercourse. To close friends, and of course his wife, he referred to his invention as an ‘intercourse swing’ but was eventually cast-out from the small town in Devon where he lived as a result of his ‘sexual depravity’ and spent the remainder of his life at sea. The ‘Hammock’ as a sex device was clearly many years ahead of it’s time. It was in the late 1700s that it was first manufactured and sold in large numbers by 'The Birmingham Bedstead Company ’ as, 'The Hammock - a suspended bed’.
