noleanders:theresagooseinthemainframe:oceanlesbian:nansheonearth:lesbian-lizards:s-adfem:radfemminnie:These men swear they’re women until they’re blue in the face but they cannot mask their misogyny. It’s really telling to see how you rejoice in the misfortune and sadness of women.@ the person who said “why can’t you guys just make your own spaces?” THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DOMichfest was just a music festival for women only. They act like it was a sin that women created that space at all, which is ridiculous, especially considering all-men’s spaces like the Bohemian Grove existed concurrently and still exist. And didn’t Michfest actually allow trans women…?It did. I met a couple when I went. Funny that even at a women’s event I was taking care of some random entitled straight white guy’s son (at brother sun)yeah, could anything be more indicative of the priorities of transactivism? instead of organizing and working to confront the realities of “cis” male violence, which actively hurts transwomen, the true agenda always keeps coming out…trans women were allowed into michfest, they also assaulted and harrassed women there, and were generally not a good addition, and they still had to destroy it. men relish in our pain, as they always have. ^^ The biggest myth about Michfest was that trans- identifying males were banned. They were not. They were simply asked to please not attend, but it was also made clear that they wouldn’t be checking and that no one would be harassed for being trans. They reacted by spending years camping outside Michfest patrolling the borders with weapons and chasing women who were out alone at night, attending and harassing, sexually assaulting and otherwise harming women there, triggering rape survivors by going to events for them and describing their penises, painting ugly graffiti on walls and toilets and putting up flyers with dicks on them and putting semen on things, stealing women’s clothing, undressing in front of elderly women and little girls, skipping the work requirement and sharing wristbands to show disrespect for Michfest and it’s sense of community, and many other such incidents. It was literally the most male display I have ever seen in my life. Women said, “Please do not come to our event, we are asking you politely to let us have our space, but if you choose to come anyway you will be allowed and you won’t be harassed,” and men responded with sexual, emotional and physical violence that lasted for literal years. -- source link
