documentingnyc:Nightshot(s): Feb 3rd. 8pm, after a(nother) full day of snow.The Harlem Meer in the northeast corner of Central Park was originally excavated in the lowest-lying section of the park. Long ago, it was a marshy tidal wetland that connected to the East River. “Meer” is Dutch for “lake,” and the ice is thin, so although it looks like it would be a lot of f-king fun, it probably isn’t such a good idea. -- source link
