I based Anakin’s “retired-jedi” look on an unused design for his hair in episode 3. Also, his outfit is based on one Padme’s dad wore in a deleted, episode 2 scene. It’s clear Padme dresses him, but he still selects clothing that allows him to remain as goth as possible. -- source link
